Neel is a second-generation Indian-American (born and raised in Edison, NJ) who performs both Western and Indian (Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Punjabi) songs with equal ease. He has performed in various US Cities like Edison, Somerset, New York, Philadelphia, DC, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Phoenix and Kansas City. His performance lets the audience experience the music of Sonu Nigam, Arijit Singh and the legendary Mohammed Rafi sahab in the same show! He often receives once-mores from the audience at his Hindi/Urdu shows. Neel has received classical training from none other than Pandit Jasraj and his senior disciple Pandita Trupti Mukherjee. Neel has trained for over five years in keyboard/piano. Neel was crowned Karaoke King in a competition organized by EBC Radio 1170 of New Jersey (8K Radio), when he was only 15. Neel was also one of the finalists in the SaReGaMa competition organized at BMM, Los Angeles (2015). He placed second in the audience-voting, securing almost three times as many votes as the third place participant. He is also the finalist for the SaReGaMaPa North America competition sponsored by Zee TV. His latest English original song was recently played on BBC India radio in the UK.Neel is the biggest fan of legendary Indian vocalist, late Mohammad Rafi, whom he reveres as his main Guru. Neel believes that he learns something new every time he sings a Rafi song! Neel has recently opened for many accomplished artists such as Sukhwinder Singh, Kailash Kher, Jay Sean, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Vishal-Shekhar, Arjun, Mickey Singh and Ghazal king Ghulam Ali sahab. Neel has set the musical score and sang a few songs in the movie (A Dot Com Mom) directed by Dr. Meena Nerurkar. Neel’s album, comprising of 10 original songs that he has composed, wrote lyrics to and sung, was released on November 1, 2015. Neel has a degree in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh
